Today’s decluttering challenge from the Kickstart to Clutter Free Challenge was to clear 25 things from the laundry room/area. I didn’t have a whole lot of clutter in that area (we don’t have a a room – just a small space off the kitchen), so in addition to the laundry area, I tackled another closet in our home as well.
And boy, oh boy, did I declutter!
In the closet inside our bathroom, I store normal bathroom things and I store some kitchen things that I don’t have room for in the kitchen. This includes some chip & dip bowls, platters for parties, and well… lots of Tupperware.
I used to be a (terrible) Tupperware consultant and since I couldn’t sell to anybody else, I was my own #1 customer. In other words, I bought a bunch of stuff I didn’t need. And then I stuck it in a closet where it lives 99% of the time.
Well, enough. I’m going to list some of these on eBay and donate the rest. We moved into this house over 5 years ago and I can probably count on one hand the number of times I’ve used this stuff. Kathi’s motto is (paraphrase), “if you don’t love it, don’t use it, or wouldn’t buy it again, it’s clutter!” Well… I do love Tupperware, but I don’t use it and I wouldn’t buy it again, so it’s outta here! I also found a shower curtain that was folded in there too that I’ll never use again.
I did get a handful of things out of the cabinet over the dryer… I consolidated 2 bottles of Bleach and ditched some almost empty containers of cleaners/sprays that we haven’t used in years and found a couple of odd things – like a cookbook (that I had a duplicate of) and a toy plate and an old apple juice bottle. Don’t ask me… ha!
And that’s it!
