Happy Monday Peeps! I took the weekend off but I’m back at it today and we’re tackling the 500 Things Decluttering Challenge again! Today in the Kickstart to Clutter Free challenge, Kathi challenged us to get rid of 25 things in the medicine cabinet!
We don’t have an “official” medicine cabinet, but we have a shelf in our bathroom, a bin in the kids’ bathroom closet and a shelf in the kitchen that all house medications…. so I got to work and here’s what I came up with:
And let me just say… color me embarrassed. I had medicine bottles that expired as far back as 2009. And not just one. Ugh! I cannot remember the last time I went through everything and obviously, it was way, WAY too long!
I also cleared out some nasty old makeup, mostly empty lotion bottles, toothbrushes, nail polishes and more! My total for today… 41 items!!
And honestly there might be more. I didn’t even get to the kitchen shelf. But we use the shelf in the kitchen most often for things we use all the time (our vitamins, pain killers, etc.) so I’m hoping most of it is things we’d keep anyway… but who knows. I’ll go dig around in there tomorrow (the kids were doing kitchen cleanup and the cabinet is above the dishwasher – that’s why I skipped it for now).
I can’t believe it… I’m getting SO CLOSE to 500 Things! If you’re enjoying this challenge and are inspired to do some decluttering yourself, I encourage you to grab Kathi’s course. Through this link, you can get it for under $6 and it’s been such a great inspiration for me! Here’s what’s included in the course:
