About Me

Thanks so much for visiting stopping by! I'd love for you to Sign up for FREE updates in your inbox or in your feed reader to keep up with all the latest things I'm sharing!

Update:  I now blog full-time over at RoseBakes.com!   I’d love it if you’d stop by and check out my cakes, recipes & tutorials!!  If you’d like to learn more about me (some funny stuff!), please visit 101 Things {mostly about me}.

My name is Rose Atwater.  I’m a local, Mississippi girl – working hard to live debt-free and stretch our income as much as possible!

I’ve been married to my college sweetheart, Richard, since 1996 and we have 6 very busy kids.  I have a degree in Mathematics, but my JOB is wife, homeschool Mommy, daughter, sister, home manager, babysitter, bill payer, laundry folder, dish washer, and the list goes on and on! In my ‘spare time’ (is there such a thing?) I bake lots of cakes and work hard to stretch our budget using coupons, rebates, sales, and deals! Over the last 8 years, I’ve saved thousands of dollars and I love showing others how to do the same!

I started blogging about my Adventures in Savings when I moved back to my (tiny) hometown in 2009 and realized how many women here had no idea about the possibilities of deals, freebies, etc.  Personally, our ultimate goal with our finances is to honor God by being good stewards of all that He has given us – to spend less than we earn, save as much as possible, and give generously as God leads us!  I decided to blog to share my knowledge and experience and to teach other Moms how to stretch their dollars a little further and be able to meet their financial goals.

Along with sharing great coupons, deals, and freebies, I hope to show Moms how to maximize rebates, how to earn extra money from home (a few dollars at a time), and how to save time and money in the kitchen.   I really enjoy sharing my favorite cooking or baking adventures and  I also throw in the occasional disastrous funny adventure or real-life mess that comes naturally in a family like ours!  I love to hear from readers and if you ask a question or make a suggestion that I use, I’ll mention you in the post and link to your blog (if you’re a blogger).

Please visit my blog often for the all the newest deals!  You can also subscribe to my daily emails and become a fan on Facebook!  You can contact me directly at adventuresinsavings_at_gmail_dot_com.
